Amy Jones
Amy has lived in the Triangle for more than 25 years and happily calls Cary home. She and her husband raised their two daughters here and is fortunate that her parents live close by too — it’s one of the things that makes this community feel so special to her.
When she’s not styling porches, you’ll probably find her reading to prepare for her next book club gathering, working out at the Y, planning the next trip with her family, or walking Ruby — her sweet pup who thinks every person on the greenway is her new best friend.
Amy loves creating spaces that feel welcoming, timeless, and full of personality — the kind of porch where friends linger, neighbors stop to chat, and you can feel the welcome before you even step inside. As an empty nester entering a new chapter, she’s excited to pour her creativity, love of home, and connection to this community into Doorstep Designs NC.
She believes a front porch sets the tone for the whole home, and that a few thoughtful touches can make people feel cared for the moment they arrive.

Christy Straight
Christy moved to North Carolina in 2006 and has been happily calling it home ever since. She and her husband, Jim, are proud parents of two App State students (Roll Neers!) and two very spoiled shih tzus.
A lifelong lover of beautiful spaces, Christy has been rearranging furniture since childhood and later channeled that passion into selecting every finish and detail of her family's custom home. She loves creating spaces that feel warm, welcoming, and lived in. The kind of home where guests kick off their shoes, put their feet up, and stay a little longer than they planned.
When she's not styling porches, you'll find her out walking the greenway, planning her next gathering, or running her gifting business. She can't always remember what she had for breakfast, but if you tell her something about yourself, she'll probably remember it forever.
A self-proclaimed homebody, Christy enjoys reality TV, rewatching Ted Lasso, and getting completely distracted by the kitchens, cozy interiors, and impeccable aesthetic in a Nancy Meyers movie. She believes the smallest details often make the biggest impact and that every home should offer a warm welcome.
